My life: imagine nacho libre but in Brasil‏

I always have experiences each week that are hilarious but slowly they are becoming less and less shocking, almost as if i am accustomed to it but here are a list of funny images that i remember from this week:

-little chunky brasilliero probably 6 years old in only red underwear (think chancho from nacho libre) running around carrying a stick above his head, yelling, and chasing a chicken.
-A really really short and really really skinny and really really old brasilleiro playing a red accordian, plugged into some amps, turned up really really loud in the middle of the day.
-Sister Murbaki dropped our keys to our lock on our gate in our apartment so she stayed by the gate door and i went up the stairs to our deck and for fifteen or more minutes we were yelling at people on the street to come help us open our door.
Yeah i know there is more but i forgot them. I have finished my eighth week here in Bebedouro and still no baptisms. One lady that we have been teaching, Geni, is pretty hilarious. She knows that the church is true, knows that the Book of Mormon is true, but was already baptised in another church and doesnt want to do it again. We explain pretty clearly about the importance of baptism...nothing. we are gonna keep working with her.
Heavenly Father led us to another family needing the gospel. It is so interesting, it happens like this: you get a feeling to do something you think man we dont have time or we never knock on doors we talk to people in the street then you think alright i will do it and boom you realize it wasnt you, it was the spirit. This happened with Jhonatan and Danilo. We had just got done teaching a lesson and i thought lets knock on the doors in this trevas. And we found Rayane, she was baptized three years ago but moved and never hasnt been. She has two younger brothers Jhonatan and Danilo and they are super excited for baptism at the end of Janeiro! They are so adorable. Therer mom works like 20 hours every day and it seems like things are hard for them. Jhonatan really liked church on sunday and i am glad we can help this family.
We have been teaching a ton, but it seems like whereever we go, Satan is not far behind. I have learned that he will attack people in any way that he possibly can, usually some cheap shots, and unfortunately he manages to disturb the peace that these people have felt. This is just another testimony to me that this work is the work of the Lord. It is a true threat to the adversary, it is what will heal the world, it is the thing that can heal families and individuals, and he doesnt want that.
It is frustrating how we teach so much but very few actually hear the words that we are saying. It is kind of like Aaron and his brothers in Alma when they are teaching and teaching and everyone that will listen is converted, but a majority of people dont. It is so interesting and easy to see the difference between those who are sitting there or perhaps trying to rebuke and those who are really listening to what the spirit can tell them. we visited the walking bible again this week. He asked questions i responded (this time i could! whoo!)with the bible and he totally didnt listen. I was timid because i do not know the bible through and through, and to answer him with it in another language was scary, but i did it. Interesting though, he wasnt looking for answers or responses, he was ,literally trying to trip us up. And i realized that knowledge is useless if you dont have love. 1 cor 8:1-3. Williams (walking bible) knows doctrine very well he is incredibly intelligent when it comes to religion, but is very very hard hearted and not to us but to others very unkind. I think once he learns love he will be able to accept this message.
well i love love love you all. thank you for the emails and letters.
proud to wear the tag.
